Howdy, My name is Waco and I'm close to being one year old. I think life is a blast and I love to see and do everything. I'm a small guy at 11 pounds and have one unusual feature. My right eye is brown on the top half and blue on the bottom half. My eyesight is fine though. I've had all of my shots, been neutered, and microchipped, so now I'm ready for my forever home. This little girl's name is Emilie. She is around three years of age. Late last July, we had an emergency call from one of our local shelters saying that there was a Peke in urgent need of rescue with a severe eye injury. We took her to our rescue vet and after close examination, he said her eye was so damaged and infected that it could not be saved. She underwent immediate surgery to remove the eye. Sadly, it appears that she also had some infection in her left eye despite the antibiotics she was on. The retina in her remaining eye (left one) had been damaged. Emilie is now totally blind. She has adjusted very well to her blindness and plays with some of the other Pekes in her foster home. She knows to go to the door to be let out to potty. She is a very loving Peke that needs a special home that will have the time to help her adjust to her new surroundings. In return, she will give you all the love and devotion you could want. Meet Mama Peke, Ming Fei and Baby
Scooter. Ming Fei has been treated for an infection, had an extensive dental, including 8 teeth being removed, and is finishing medications to treat the many problems she came to us with from the puppy mill and has been spayed. She is doing exceptionally well, and is a good mom to her only puppy, Scooter. When Ming Fei weans Scooter, she will be ready for adoption. She is a very affectionate dog that loves attention from her foster family and is house trained. Scooter will be ready for adoption after he is weaned and is neutered. My name is Valentino and I'm 12 months old. Peke Rescue wondered how a young boy like me could have ended up in such sad shape as when I was rescued. I had a serious skin infection, and had to stay at the vet's to have it treated. Some nice Houston Pekingese Rescue supporters donated the funds needed for my treatment and I am now all better and almost ready for my forever home! There are some pictures of me on the Pekes Needing Help page if you want to see what I looked like when I was first rescued. I just wanted to let everyone know that I feel like a new doggie now! The vet has gotten my skin condition under control and my hair is growing back in. I'm turning back into the handsome little pup I was meant to be.
